It’s with bitter disappointment that we have to announce the following news; a positive COVID-19 case has been discovered within the company of the CCN-Ballet de Lorraine last week. As a consequence, we have to cancel all our representations of Air-condition scheduled between May 20 and May 27 at the Opéra national de Lorraine in Nancy.

This heart-breaking decision is the result of the protocol put in place at the CCN – Ballet de Lorraine to prevent an outbreak:
To be able to practice without a mask, the dancers of the company have to undergo a weekly COVD-19 screening, and with the discovery of a positive case last Tuesday, every dancer has been put in isolation for a period of ten days, stopping the rehearsals of Air-condition until –at least- May 19, one day before the scheduled premiere.

Initially programmed in February, Air-condition has been, like every creation, subject to modifications since then, and was going to be completed in these latest days of creation. With ten days of rehearsals cancelled, including those scheduled at the Opera, we won’t be able to present the finished result in time for the series.

We dreaded to have to make this decision, but unfortunately we are once again reminded that even with a strict protocol in place, this pandemic can touch everyone… This virus will unfortunately deny us from the return to the stage that we worked so hard for in the past weeks. That being said, our priority is, and will always be the safety of our employees and our public.
